Jiří Baumruk, MSc

Jiří Baumruk holds the position of director of communications in the AEQUITAS Group. He is responsible for Public Relations and is the contact for the media. The AEQUITAS Group values his many years of professional experience.
Jiří Baumruk graduated from 1975–1979 at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Charles University in Prague, specializing in coaching. In 1984, he obtained the academic title PaedDr. In the years 1982 – 1984, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Journalism of Charles University, which he finished with a state final exam.
He played in the 1st Czechoslovak basketball league for eight seasons for the Sparta Prague team (1973–1979, 1980–1982) and one season during his military service (1979/80) for RH Pardubice. The biggest success was third place in the Czechoslovak basketball league in 1976.
In the years 1972–1979, he played 120 games for the Czechoslovak national team in the junior and U23 categories, and 10 games for the men's national team. Already during his sports career since 1974 he was a coach and leader of youth sports teams in volleyball and basketball, since 1977 he worked as a leader and organizer of children's camps, recreation and sports camps.
From 1981 he worked as an editor at Czechoslovak Radio, from November 1985 at Czechoslovak Television as a sports commentator. In the years 1992–2000, he was the editor-in-chief of the Sports Department of Czech Television. In the years 2005–2011 he was a member of the Council of Czech Television, he held the position of Chairman of the Council from 2007 until the end of his mandate in 2011. In the years 2000–2012 he worked for Eurosport as a commentator, from 2015 to the present he works for O2TV sport as a chief commentator and commentator.
